Use a Spice Grinder to Make Your Own Gluten-free Flour
A spice grinder makes it easy to make your own gluten-free flour.

Need a gift idea that's not too costly, super useful, and in the end will be time and money-saving?

Is there really such a stupendous idea out there?  Does such a magical object exist?

Yep.

It's a spice grinder.  I just got one, and I LOVE it!  I have long made my own oat flour by blending it up in small batches in my blender, but using a spice grinder makes it super easy and quick to make my own flour.  I can make oat flour, quinoa flour, chickpea flour and more in just a few quick pulses.

Make Oat Flour Using a Spice Grinder
I made my own gluten-free oat flour in seconds with my spice grinder.

I also used it to quickly chop up some pepitas when I was making granola the other morning.

It comes apart, and I can wash the components in the dishwasher.  So easy!  Because it's so easily cleaned, I don't have to worry that any aroma or flavor from pungent spices will linger.

What are your ideas for fun gift giving this holiday season?

Happy Cooking!

  1. What is the brand name if this one? I've been using a coffee bean grinder for years, great for spices, but small batches of anything else.

  2. Marty,
I bought a Cuisinart. It can grind up to 1/2 cup of grain at a time.

  4. Thank you for your post!
I think that it will be a wonderful gift for my mother's birthday. In the past, because I didn't have enough time so I often bought some food from the restaurant.
    Thanks again!
